Think you know poverty?

 


The voices of those with lived experience in poverty are often lost in the conversation. The Mayor’s Advisory Panel on Poverty heard from nearly 1,000 community members in more than 100 meetings. 

Here are just a few of those stories from Londoners who have lived with poverty and those who are leaders in the movement to end it.

 

Our number one fear as human beings isn't death. It's loneliness. Spend a few minutes understanding poverty from the perspective of someone who lives it.

A hand up is better than a handout, for individuals and for our community. Spend a few minutes discovering how building dignity and self worth can help build our economy, too.

In the race of life, not everyone starts at the same place. Spend a few minutes understanding how poverty is more than just a lack of financial resources.
