“Poverty, Prostitution and Human Trafficking” with Detective Constable Jim Pottruff, London Police Services

With more than two and a half years’ experience in human trafficking investigations, Detective Constable Pottruff discusses how poverty in London, Ontario is a major catalyst in making people vulnerable to the sex trade. Jim Pottruff is a Detective Constable in the Major Crime Section with London Police Services.

Closing out the evening will be Megan Walker, Executive Director of the London Abused Women’s Centre, who will provide insight through the lens of a front-line service provider. She has worked to end men’s violence against women at home, in the workplace and in the community for 30 years. Megan collaborated with the federal government to develop Canada’s progressive prostitution legislation which became law in December 2014.
